Gareth Jones appointed as Managing Director of Solar Group (Huthwaite)

Respected industry figure Gareth Jones has been appointed Managing Director of the Solar Group’s Huthwaite based operation, officially taking up his new role from 3rd November. Gareth, who has been in the industry for nearly 25 years, will bring his considerable experience to the Group, further strengthening its position and laying the foundations for the future.

The Solar Group’s Huthwaite operation comprises of three businesses, each of which are separate trading entities: Solar Calibre Doors Ltd, Solar Norvik Ltd and Taylor Manufacturing. Collectively the businesses employ over 100 people across sites in Huthwaite and Barnsley, supported by an extensive supply chain.

There is huge potential for our businesses, all of which have maintained quality and supply throughout a very challenging period for the industry. We are in a great position because of our ‘strength in numbers’ – we have a committed supply chain, a reliable manufacturing route and offer an efficient service, all of which is critical for our customers particularly given the current market conditions.

The three Solar Group businesses in Huthwaite are:

Solar Norvik

Specialises in the new build developer market, manufacturing and installing window and door products. Based in Barnsley and Huthwaite, it operates out of two sites, over 80,000 sq ft.

Solar Calibre Doors

Specialises in the trade and commercial installer sector, producing GRP, timber, fire and composite doors. Solar Calibre is based in Huthwaite, over 73,000 sq ft.

Taylor Manufacturing

A window and door fabricator producing a wide range of fenestration products for the wider group as well as selected business partners.

Solar Windows

Over 29 years’ experience specialising in the Commercial Sectors with expertise in Social Housing window/door refurbishment and Newbuild Developments. Manufacturers of PVCu windows/doors, timber and GRP Composite fire doors, plus the PVCu/aluminium hybrid window and door system – WarmCore. Solar Windows operates from four sites, over 40,000 sq ft in Wales.

Interframe

13 years’ experience manufacturing window and door products for the trade market. Based in Paignton it operates from five sites, over 70,000 sq ft.
